Open attachments

What happens when you try and did you install anything recently?
 
I have the same problem. When I try to open a JPEG attachment it shows up
with a purple background and some dark patches. I could do this before. I
have done a number of updates on my computer from Microsoft for Vista and
Office 2003. I have also installed Internet explorer 8. Could open them
before and they would be seen, but not now.
