to find examples that will walk me through how to use Microsoft Excel
Solver?

(1) Take a look at the examples in the SolvSamp.xls workbook. This sample
workbook is installed on your hard drive when the Solver add-in is
installed. On my system it's located at C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft
Office Pro 2003 \ Office 11 \ Samples \ SolvSamp.xls.

(2) Browse to www.solver.com, on the left-side menu click "Solver Tutorial,"
and choose "Can You Show Me Step by Step."
