Solver missing from tools menu

I have solver installed through the add-ins item on the Tools menu
(found solver using browse; item is checked). However, it doesn't show
up on the Tools menu and so I can't actually access the solver.

I've tried repairing and reinstalling Excel, but that doesn't seem to
affect things. I also tried registering the FM20.dll, which was
mentioned in a post I located. Neither seems to do anything.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice appreciated!

It's curious that you had to browse for Solver. It should have been in the
Add-ins list. I'm wondering if it was installed properly. I'd run Office
Setup again and install it. Or uninstall it and then install it.

Thanks for the help. The add-ins list always showed the solver, but I
searched for it as a way to reinstall, hoping that would fix the
problem. I think I'll uninstall through Office Setup and then
reinstall. Hopefully that will help. Thanks again.

I uninstalled solver through office setup and then reinstalled it.
That seems to have fixed things. Thanks!

Great!

I had the same problem and did the same fix. Thanks for your help. This was
very frustrating.
