Solitaire causes hard lock

I have been having issues with Solitare in Windows Vista. After 5+ minutes
of play, it causes the system to hard lock (no BSOD, etc), and the system
has to be reset. No other applications seem to be causing this issue,
including other Windows built in games, as well as other 3D games (I have
tried Sim City 4, Civilization 4, Madden 2007). Any idea what is causing
this and how to fix it? I have a dual core Opteron 165 with 2 GB of RAM.

Thanks

I had the same problem with Windows Me and never found a solution except
to upgrade to W2K and then XP.

How can MS possibly screw up something as simple as Solitaire to the point
it causes a hard system lock? It's just bizzare, and the fact that far more
demanding 3D games run just fine tells me it's a software glitch, not a
hardware issue.
