I was looking for a video splitter after asftools failed me and came across
Software Club's website (http://softwareclub.ws). They have a bunch of freebie
audio, video, and image tools.

I haven't heard mention of these guys before; usenet & google searches turned up
zilch which I found unusual. Anyone know if they are legit (i.e., spyware free?)

Thanks -

zach

Hi Zach,
I just tried to install Icon Editor from http://softwareclub.ws. The
installation begins with a notice that the reason that their software
is free is because you MUST install whenUsave adware and couponware as
part of the installation package. There isn't any "no" button---either
accept whenUsave or the installer quits.

Click "Yes" at your own risk.

I alt.comp.freeware, sa zach utan att tänka först:

According to Spyware Warrior, it's adware.

And there's a review at Hotscripts.com that say it's spyware

They are no legit freeware programs. These prog's from softwareclub.ws
are adware & spyware. I tried to install several of their prog's
several days ago & a screen comes up which says that this software
installs WhenU.

WhenU is a known spyware company so stay away from any prog's which
says that it will install WhenU.
