Software loading conflict

Last night I was loading various Allen Bradley PLC
programming software onto my Dell Laptop running Windows
XP Pro. While in the middle of one of the loads I started
receiving the following error message

[ {Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all
the data for the file . The data has been lost. This
error may be caused by a failure of your computer
hardware or network connection. Please try to save this
file elsewhere. ]

This morning when I turned it on I started receiving
window installation pop-ups that qucikly shut down by
themselves and then received the warning again, but this
time for other established programs i.e. firewall, spam
filter, anti-virus, etc. Recently, I received the error
after my antivirus was unable to scan my email.

I thought if I removed the offending programs, the AB
programs that I attempted to install last night, maybe
the issue would go away. When I went to remove the
program from the OS control panel it said that I needed
to complete the installation first.

My confusion is overwhelming! What should I do? How do I
complete this hung installation or delete the
installation. Any and all help would be greatly
appreciated

Download and run the hard disk diagnostic program
that your disk manufacturer makes available on his
home site, free of charge.
