I realised I had a problem when I could not set Themes and Appearences to
default.

During system restore attempts (all failed), I noticed SDS 3.0 had installed
itself at every restore point as far back as I was able to go (Feb 2008).

I've read some of the threads which suggested contacting support.

I contacted support who sent me links to Themes and Appearences and not the
information I requested.

The help I require is: How do I remove SDS 3.0 from my pc?

Here is what I did and it was successful.

1. I turned off my virus protection (disconnect/disabled internet connection)
2. I rebooted my PC in Safe Mode (hold F8 while computer starts up)
3. I ran System Restore to a point PRIOR to the SDS 3.0.
When the computer came back on it was restored successfully. I connected to
the internet, restarted the Anti Virus AND TURNED OFF Automatic Updates.
I was back in business after that.
