Software Compatibility (Microsoft)

Deep Thought

I am in throws of purchasing new desk top pc - but need to know if the
following programs that I previously purchased will be compatible with the
new operating system... there does not seem to be a quick answer on the web
or, more worryingly, from the potential supplier of the new p.c.:

Word 97
Outlook 2000
ActiveSync
Money 99

MS Office 97 or newer will work just fine with Windows XP
(Home or Pro) and that includes WORD 97, Outlook 2000 and
MONEY. I also assume that ActiveSync will also work.
Be sure to update the programs on-line after installing on
the new computer.
I think the correct word is throe or throes

Thanks... I notice this ng has an alternative title of alt.grammar.picky -
well I suppose the education system has been dumbed-down to such a degree
over the years that there is a need for us to police ourselves here and with
that in mind I thank you - I promise I won't apply ---throw--- in the wrong
context again. I will voluntarily go and stand in the corner.

IT types seem especially picky in matters of grammar and spelling probably
because it "goes with the territory." A good portion of technical analysis
depends on accuracy - details of a trouble situation, recounting of error
messages and so on. I recommend not taking corrections personally. In
other words, you're done standing in the corner now. ;^)

If we all don't resist the creeping IM and SMS plague, soon
the language will be gone forever.

Not to mention the havoc a simple mis-spelling or syntax error can
cause in a line of code..... ;-}

I thought this was a good example of the human brains ability to see words:

"Misspelling" is not hyphenated, and if it were, it would be between the "s"
you left out and "spelling."

Is English a second or third language for you? If so, may I
suggest that you try posting your question in a news group dedicated
to your native language? I say this not to insult or offend, but
rather to point out that you're not likely to get much help, if no one
can understand what you're saying or asking.

Otherwise, I'd suggest you start by reposting in standard English,
complete with paragraphs, sentences, capital letters where
appropriate, and punctuation. As it is, your post is quite
undecipherable: some of the words you used are from the English
language, but are completely meaningless as currently assembled.
