I have a problem with a program called Metastock 6.52, made in 1998.
I am running XP home and it was working fine, until I deleted some files
from a scanner program that were causing some grief.
Now when I open the program and try to open a saved file from the saved
files folder within the program it shuts down.

If I open the folder with the saved files and open the file within the
folder, the program opens and the chosen file can be used.

I just can't access files from within the program.

I have tried to re-load but no good.

Since we don't know what files you deleted, what "causing some grief"
means, and what actually happens when you try to "re-load" Metastock,
it is impossible to give you a specific answer. I'm not familiar with
Metastock so don't know what files it needs to work properly. My guess
is that the program depended on something you deleted. Two things to
try:

1. Do a System Restore to before you deleted the files. See if that
fixes the Metastock program. If it does, then perhaps you'd like to
post back to this thread with information about the scanner program for
help in troubleshooting it.

2. Uninstall and reinstall Metastock. Perhaps the "re-load" didn't work
because you didn't uninstall it first. There's no way of telling from
your post what actually happened.

3. Contact tech support for Metastock for help with their program since
this is not an operating system (XP) issue.
