Soft On/off Button

After doing a full reinstall of XP Pro with SP2 my soft on/off button does
not shut down computer completely. This happened with another computer I had
some time ago & someone in this NG advised going somewhere to check or
uncheck an option which fixed it - I can't remember where. Any clues would
be appreciated.

Control Panel/Power Options/Advanced tab, look under Power Buttons.

Thanks for that - it gave me the clue I wanted. Itwas the APM that I needed
to enable.
