Snap-in failed to initialize

I upgraded last year from 98 to XP home. I have always
used Disk Defragmenter via Norton Disk Doctor. Alas, who
knows why I can't even locate it. However, when I choose
tools and then Disk Defragmenter I get the following
message: Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name: Disk Defragmenter
CLSID:{43668E21-2636-11D1-AICE-0080C88593A5}
Would be thankful for advice.
