Smart Wizard MFC application

I keep getting an error message that reads, "Smart Wizard
MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to
close" and I know it might have something to do with the
sound card because I have no sound. When I go in and
check on the sound devices, I get a "Device cannot start.
Code 10" message. What does that mean and how do I fix
it? Do I need to reinstall Windows again? I tried to
update the driver but got the message that I had the most
current driver and it was working properly. Can someone
please help me? Thanks!!

Have you tried to use the restore feature to rollback the OS to the date before you update the drivers
