smart media card unreadable

HI I HAVE JUST GOT A NEW COMPUTER WITH A SMART MEDIA CARD DRIVE I INSERT THE CARD FROM MY CAMERA AND IT SAYS NO FILES OR UNREADABLE WHEN I PLUG CAMERA IN VIA USB THE PICTURES ARE THERE AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG

Make sure the Smart Media Card drive is the same type needed to read
the memory card from your camera. There are several different types
of memory cards. Also make sure you're inserting the card correctly.

Check your computer manual to see if it lists the different types of
memory cards the smart media drive will read. Compare that with the
memory card type your camera uses.
