Hi
After I install smart device extention for VisualStudio.net, would I still be able to develop normal desktop application using Visual Studio

Technically yes, assuming you're using Visual Studio .NET 2002. However,
keep in mind that the "Smart Device Extensions" have been obsolete for quite
some time.

If you're using Visual Studio .NET 2003, you get the device stuff by
default.
