sluggish windows explorer

Sometimes when I right-click on the start button on Windows XP Pro, it takes about 45 seconds for the menu to appear. Where do I need to go to see what's happening?

I took a quick peek at the links and they appear to address the problems I'm having. I'll check them out in more detail in the next ciuple of days
