XP more than sluggish

I wish I could give more of a pinpoint as to what's going on here:

XP became sluggish, or shoudl I say more sluggish yesterday
HD won't stop spinning
Can't ifnd any stranges apps in Taskmgr
Can't find any crazy errors in EventLog
Running NAV for the 3rd time in 1 week
Ran Ad-Aware, notihng
Ran Spinrite to check drive for errors
Turned off Windows Update cause the shield was stuck on 0% (trying to
install XP SP3 I guess)
Also I set the VM Paging to ZERO, rebooted, then set it back to system
managed, rebooted (to try and clean flush the pagefile.sys. I even
looked for it to delete, but couldn't find it.

Any thoughts here????

How much RAM memory?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

What anti-spyware programme are you using?

I would be interested in seeing a Disk Defragmenter report . Open Disk
Defragmenter and click on Analyse. Select View Report and click on Save
As and Save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents Folder and post a
copy. Do this before running Disk Defragmenter as it is more
informative.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files. Also
select Start, All Programs, accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp,
More Options, System Restore and remove all but the latest System
Restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.
