Slowness

Hi, I hope you are doing well.

I have Win 2K running on 700mhz PC w/ 128mb ram. I know I should just go
ahead and buy a new one. But, when I access Win 2K server applications the
first time after booting the PC, everything is extremely slow. Seems that
after first accessing a Word document the rest open without problem. However,
that is not always the case. No one else on network has this problem. I've
installed USB / RJ45 adapter and quit using the installed NIC card and that
does not seem to help. I've changed back to installed NIC and that does not
help.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

have you checked the computer for spyware? there are lots of programs
available free of charge that may help with this. you mat also wish to try:

start/run/msconfig > startup and check whats running in the background.
