Slowly start-ups

I don't know if my problem is Vista related, but it's really anoying.
Starting up my PC goes very slowly and once it's running every program I
want to start needs minutes to run properly. Every program I launch has the
"not responding" message in the title bar for a couple of minutes. Sometimes
it takes up to 10-20 minutes or it even stays like that.

I have a brand new PC with
-Intel Core 2 Duo-processorE6400
-1024 MB DDR2 SDRAM (533MHz - 64 bits)

Can someone help me?

Thanks

I think your problem is with vista. It is the same with me. Vista takes forever to
startup and shutdown on my computer also. Microsoft should look at this
issue and
provide a fix. But just in case it's not vista, if you discover a fix please
let me know.
