Slowly start up of Vista

It takes 4 to 5 minutes to sart Vista with modem and even without modem.Can
somebody help? In Internet I always see: secured modem is used.Thanks a lot
 
Start ( Boot Cycle ) times will vary, depending on your hardware and
3rd-party applications. Usually, if you Boot the PC to Safe Mode you
can determine your machine's fastest cycle time - since it omits 3rd Party
drivers and Startup and Watchdog applets.

Not sure I follow your comments on the modem. Is there a reason you
think the modem is the cause of your slow boot time ? Is this modem a
traditional "Dial-Up" or a USB connected Broadband type ?>
