Slower Printing with XP

Its seems that since we've changed several computers to a
new dell running XP that the HP 4000/4050/5000 printers
print significantly slower than before XP. I've changed
the drivers on the printers from hp4, pcl5,pcl6, etc. None
seems to make a difference and it seems that this is an
issue only with the HP printers?

Any thoughts?

Have you contacted HP? If not, they may be able to help.

Are these local printers, or are they networked printers using standard
TCP/IP ports on the local computers or shared from a server?

Have you locked down all server and workstation NICs at a specific
speed/duplex setting rather than using autosense?

They are all TCP/IP printers off a Win2k3 server. Prior to
winxp they all printed at the advertised print speed...now
they are noticably slower...i've seen this happen at other
sites also when xp desktop came into circulation.

What about the autosense, or lack thereof, on the NICs? I haven't seen any
difference in printing speed with XP as opposed to 2k, myself.
