I have a home network with an XP Pro desktop ethernetted to a Linksys WRT54G
router and an XP Pro notebook wifi'd in. They both access internet over
Comcast cable. It's been this way for two years except that recently I got a
new desktop and a new router.

There is now a noticeable slow down in accessing internet from either the
notebook or desktop. Notice that the desktop is ethernetted to the router so
it can't be the WEP encription slowing it down.

I'm using ie 6.0

Do you have the most recent firmware applied to your router. Have you check
the cable connection and cable form modem to router? Have you check the
speed with a computer connected directly to the modem? Have you reset your
router and reconfigured it?

Yes! That did it. Really a huge speed up with that firmware upgrade. I
should have thought of that myself.

Thanks.

The firmware upgrade did the trick. Thanks.
