Things to check (one thing at a time and test afterwards):

1. If you are using third-party wireless management software (provided
by the wireless card mftr. or laptop mftr.) look on their website for
updates to the program.

2. See if there are updated drivers for your wireless hardware, both the
card in the computer and any firmware for the router/access point.

3. If you are using third-party wireless management and there is no
updated software, try clicking the box in Wireless properties to "Allow
Windows to manage..."

If none of the above works, please post back to this thread with details
about what hardware you have and what your network setup is.

i got a relatively new (1sta May 04) HP ZT3200 laptop. 1.4PenM 40GB 512MB
Centrino XP Pro. Intel Pro Wireless 2200GB. NetGear WGR614v3. WEP enabled.
Intel driver update from HP & NetGear firmware just now updated. boots fast
enough & wireless hooks up pretty fast @ 54mbps but goes to nothin in jus
minutes. already done "How to troubleshoot wireless network connections in
Windows XP Service Pack 2" though i may have missed somethin.
