In my case, I use fast-switching and it seems same speed once I have "logged
on" to each user. Some delay during "log on", but that is as expected since
it has more to do.

Switch-Users in Windows XP requires at least 64MBs of RAM allocated to each
account, so it has a lot do with how much memory is installed in your
computer. Also ensure that too many programs are not running or scanning
programs in the background.
