The idea was to shoot video of each golfer from behind and across; the
play these short videos back in slow motion and normal speed while the
were having their awards supper.

This was accomplished and the video was up and playing on a large scree
within 15 minutes of leaving the course. The only PROBLEM was that som
golf swings took far more time than others and when played back in slo
motion; the audience would lose interest. As well in attempting t
capture only the "golf swing" we missed some completely.

The solution was a simple program change that allowed for ONLY the fina
3 secs of the video (the swing) to be played in slow motion. This way w
could start recording right when the golfer addressed the ball and tur
off the recording on completion of the swing. From now on we won't mis
any more Swings.

Now each video plays followed by the finals 3 seconds in Slo-Mo.

The video clips from those 2 tournaments is being switched out daily
Along with a demo of the slo-mo and other capabilities.

What other action sport could benefit from this technique?
Rodeo and their final 8 seconds.
Water Skiing wipe outs

"SpectateSwamp" Great. Dog frisbee would work well with this video technique. The catch
in slo-mo. HoopleHead is a strange name for a dog?

You HoopleHeaded idiot. Why don't you do a poll on why you are so ignorant?

You sure are an egoist. You learned a new word (HoopleHead) and now you use
it in every one
of your posts. Who are you trying to impress?

When things are simple they are usually quick. It took a couple minutes to offload the video onto the laptop. Then mere seconds to catalogue them. The cataloging looks like this:

photo c:\search\golfvid001.mpg
xxx.c:\search\golfvideo001.mpg

photo start==-3000 speed=125 c:\search\golfvid001.mpg
xxx.c:\search\golfvideo001.mpg

photo c:\search\golfvid002.mpg
xxx.c:\search\golfvideo002.mpg

photo start==-3000 speed=125 c:\search\golfvid002.mpg
xxx.c:\search\golfvideo002.mpg
..
..
the -3000 indicates the start point is 3 seconds before the end of the video and the 125 is the speed where 1000 is full speed.
The auto catalogue used the path name in the search detail line as often the name of the file and folder are important.

Nobody can do golf video faster than this.

Changing your ID from P.A.Toot to Kukla, Fran & Ollie isn't going to mask

While showing those golf video clips after the supper; a number of golfers wanted to see their swing. But at the time we couldn't easily do that. They were just 2 video clips in among 180 or so. Now there is a SOLUTION.

By creating an extremely short video as each group approaches the Tee (maybe showing a whiteboard containing the flight# and player names?); the program will use that as a "group break point". That will now allow for the golfer to indicate which group they were in from the tournament sheet and we can replay their video and those of the rest of the players in that group. It will also enable us to play the videos random by group. For the Barrel racing it will randomly replay the video group for each racer. For this event we shut the camcorder off and immediately switch it back on after the horse and rider round each barrel. Randomly playing just part of the run wouldn't be the same.

Here is what a respondent from another Forum said:

"this is an honest-to-God useful feature. I've often wished the shuffle function on music devices could be made to work this way. The reason is that I mainly listen to classical music. Much of that music is divided into movements, with each movement being a separate track. The movements themselves are not independent, however, and in sequence form the complete work. So I'd like to be able to say, for instance, "Play all my Beethoven pieces in a random order", and have Symphony #6 followed by Piano Concerto #5 rather than Symphony #6, movement II followed by Piano Concerto #5, movement I."
