Leythos, a bit O/T so I leave the OPs question intact below.
No factual evidence but for some reason the User Profile cleanup seems to
have speeded up some login problems on a couple of machines here... you
noticed anything like that or you think just coincidence?

The biggest problem I've seen with slow logons is when they have a
domain computer and the user has put hundreds of MB of files in their My
Documents folder or on their Desktop.
I've also seen about 30 cases if FireFox 1.04 where it didn't clean the
cache, which is stored in the users profile, and it would hover near
800MB and take 15 minutes for the user to logon.
I always scan users profiles and alert them to move files to the
business folders (network shares) or their home drive instead of My
Documented or their Desktop when the hit about 250MB or more (depending
on outlook config).
As far as Registry cleanup, we only manually (by hand) edit the registry
and never run clean-up tools on it.
