slow spooling in p2p net

W

Wulf Wendelstein

Hi,

I have a small p2p net with 2 W2k PCs. Everything works fine except printing
from one PC to the other, where a HP LJ6MP is connected. Printing directliy
from the printer host PC is as fast as usual, while from the client spooling
takes forever, leading to sporadic timeouts - even with the very same
documents. If I open the printer properties on the client, status is
"ready". For unknown reasons in rare cases printing fom the client is as
fast as from the host, but this is not reproducible.

This occured a few days ago without having changed anything with the
configuration.

Is there a cure for this behaviour?

TIA
Wulf

I had a very similar problem which was solved by removing the DNS Suffix from
the system properties/network identification - properties, this will bring
you to the identification screen. On there will be a button labeled 'more'.
Click on this button and remove the computer DNS suffix name and untick the
change primary DNS box.

Reboot and try printing.

Hope this helps it worked for me.
