Slow response-long to display messages

I am running Outlook XP (2002) with SP2. My .PST file is around 100MB in size. Suddenly Outlook is responding very slowly, takes a long time to display and move/scroll between messages. This wasn't like this and other software is working normal and my PST has often been much larger (so I don't think it's the size that is causing this problem). Any ideas what can be wrong? I have used the SCANPST.EXE file to scan the PST file, but it didn't find any errors in the file

Thanks
Olafur

Try disabling the Windows Messenger integration;
Tools-> Options-> tab Other

Incredible! This just fixed the problem. I diabled the Instant Messaging tab in Outlook and the speed became normal again. Thanks so much for your advice Roady.
