slow problem with explorer

My internet explorer goes really slow or just stops and shuts down.
Everything on my computer is/has been updated and the anti-virus program says
there are no viruses. Also, when using other internet programs such as msn
explorer the internet works fine and goes fast as usual. So it's just
internet explorer for some reaon. If it helps its explorer version 6, windows
Xp.
I dont know why its still not working properly and have done everything i
can but i'm out of ideas...
please someone help!

I too am having the same/similar issue with IE. My computer is also running
XP and recently was upgraded with XP SP2. My Anti-virus also indicates my
machine is clean. When IE does finally launch, DSL tests prove no issue with
the iSP. Sometimes, launching URLs within text/email does not result in
anything occuring. This slowness started occuring after XP SP2 update.

Anu ideas?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.
