slow network browsing

I am working on a client's network and have slow browsing to certain network
shares. The following is from a user.



We are plagued by the slow browsing problem when working over the network.
People do not send data sheets to customers and they do not look up data
because things take too long to click through.

Some computers browse from folder to folder very quickly, some do not. Mine
used to, but when I installed XP on this new machine, the browsing goes
slowly like all others.

I just deleted about 200 small files from the network server. The process
took almost one minute. This does not seem right either.

Please click the Newsgroup button in Outlook Express, go to the network_web
