Slow My Network Places

Hi!

I've noticed a very strange thing on Windows XP Pro. I have a shortcut
in My Network Places to a shared directory of our NT 4 server. If I
use this shortcut, a directory listing lasts significantly longer than
if I browse to the same directory through Entire Network.
Can anyone tell me what's the problem? Or can anyone explain how the
shortcuts in My Network Places work? What's the difference between
using the shortcut and browsing to the directory explicitly?

turn off "details" ..it does a couple of sweeps to get info on each
connection
