Slow Machine - RAM ?

Have Fujitsu Amilo A notebook AMD 2500 256k Ram 37gig hard drive (13free)
Seems to be getting slower & slower between instructions thought might need
to upgrade RAM to 512 Noticed in System Information showing 256k but
Available Phisical Memory only 64 Is this normal or is the system set up
wrong and only thinks i have 64k not 256 Prob a realy dumb question !! Thanks

I think you'd notice a difference by doubling your RAM but check first to
make sure your MB will handle another 256 stick. Having said that normally
if you can see that things are slowing down it's usually Spyware / Adware
causing the problem. Do you have software to catch these nasties? In
answer to your question about the Available Physical Memory being 64, that
is what you have unused out of your total of 256. In other words you are
using 192 and have 64 left.

No, the 64 is what is left of the original 256 after all programs have been
loaded. More memory would help.
