Slow login on roaming profile

Is there a way to "clean up" one's personal settings?

Recently, I have found that my login is taking longer and longer to "load
personal settings". This is most noticable on one workstation, but is long on
all workstations compared to the other users.

This is not a huge network - it is a home network currently comprised of 3
W2K-Pro workstations and a W2K server.

Any suggestions?

Cal.

How big is your profile?
Redirect My Docs to the server (home directory)? Might help.
Also google for TreeSizerPro if you want to see what's taking up so much
space, if this is indeed the issue.

Check these items and clean up as necessary:

1. Desktop (Large pictures used as a wallpaper can kill your login time.
Also check for Folders (not shortcuts) that you may have saved on your
desktop and move them to your C: drive(or whatever drive letter you use for
your data drive).

2. My Documents (you can redirect this folder to your data drive)

3. Delete Temporary Internet Files (very common problem for roaming profiles)

4. Check your Startup folder and make sure there is nothing starting up at
login that doesn't need to.
