Slow IE Performance with sp2

I'm running a peer-to-peer network with 2 xp pro (sp2)
machines and 1 running 2000. 2000 machine is connected to
DSL line via a 2wire router. Each PC has plenty of memory
and all are running IE6. IE6 performance is consistanly
great on the PC running 2000 at any time of the day. At
certain time of the day, IE6 is totaly useless on the xp
machines with sp2. I suspect an IE setting is causing the
problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

installing the "application compatibility testing and
migration guide", the program will open. Part of the
program is a 103 page document that discusses steps
Microsoft recommends one take before upgrading to XP SP
2.
