slow game

Hi, I have just bought my kids a new pc, Athlon xp 3.gthz, 256DDR ram
and 128mb graphics card and a 120 gig HD,they like the sims but it
seems to be playing catch-up, should this spec be able to cope with
this game? I have looked in msconfig start up and there are only a few
programmes running, my o\s is XP pro. can you help? thaks Adrian

ive had problems out of athlons as in cache issues and hardware conflicts.one
go to run type dxdiag and run the tests to make sure all aspects of your
video card and graphics are fine.also try to lower the graphic rate as
well.just food for thought just sharing teh probs ive had that might help ya
