Slow drive access across xp network

Hi I am experiencing very slow access times when reading
the drives from one computer to another, I have changed the
irpstacksize to 15 that fixed the problem of not being able
to even access the network drives at all but now there is a
good 3 to 5 minute delay when accesing drive 1 from
computer 2 ect browsing a network drive or launching
applications from a drive connected to another computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Sometimes enabling the Indexing service can help.
1. Open up services (control panel > performance &
maintanence > administrative tools > services)
2. The scroll down to Indexing service
3. Double click on it and choose automatic startup

How big are the drives that you are trying to access.
Are you using a workgroup or a domain on your network.
