slow downloading

Recently my adsl internet connection appears to have
slowed down hugely. Pictures take ages to download but
downloading a file is as quick as ever. Has anyone got
any ideas what could be going on. I am using XP home
(SP1) with IE 6.

When was the last time that you deleted the temporary Internet files, along
with the offline files?

Just after it started happening, but no improvement.

Have you tried resetting your ADSL modem turning off your computer,
unplugging the ADSL modem, plugging the modem back in and then booting up
your computer? If that doesn't work, I would call my ISP if I were you. They
may tell you they have an "incident" and all this work will have been for
nothing

Have you tried navegating with another browser like Opera or Netscape?

Thanks for suggestions.

I tried Netscape and it was the same, so reinstalled the
modem and it worked!!

For about 10 minutes, then reverted back to it's old ways.

Dodgy modem? BT Voyager 100. Or could it be an ISP
issue still?? Sounds more like the modem is playing up.

Sounds like the modem to me, too. Call your ISP and get another one.
