Slow Dos printing with XP

Hi, I have been using a Dos based Epos system with
Windows ME, a customer display & receipt printer are
connect to a com. port. I have now installed windows XP.
the problem I have is that the receipt printer nolonger
prints receipts until about 20 seconds later. Is ther
away over this ?

prints receipts until about 20 seconds later.

this probably happens because your DOS app do not close the port at the end
of the print job, so Windows have to wait for the timeout value to
"understand" it is finished.

This has been discussed in past. The best solution should be to fix the DOS
app.
