slow command to printer

Installed XP Home Edition. When I click on "print" it
takes several minutes for the command to get to the
printer. Have a HP Photosmart 7550 which worked fine
while using Windows ME. Reinstalled the printer to
resolve but unsucessful. Print jobs are spooled for
faster printing.

Is this printer connected via parallel or USB cable?

During the uninstall, did you include step 4 as at
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article One.htm

If not, you are still using the old drivers.
