I recently contracted a virus that killed my hard
drive. after formatting and reinstalling windows xp I
have this problem.

When i scroll down on a website the scroll bar moves
and nothing happens for a few seconds, then it moves down
jerkily. Befor the reinstall it was smooth. Also when i
move a window around on the desktop i have the same
problem, the window hesitates for a second and then moves
slowly and jerkily. What happened?

Had the asme problem, ended up being a boot sector virus
(spread by floppy disc) ended up not using any floppies,
got new floppies and did a clean install using fdisk /mbr
to fix boot sector.
