slideshow doesn't run smoothly

when I am previewing my slideshow it does not run through the pics smoothly.
it seems as if it is moving in fragments or frames. this happens with the
motion & duration and transition, when i play it on wmp it does the same
thing. Any help with this?

Several possibilities. The most common one is you have large photo files and
you have only a small amount of RAM memory, like 128 or 256 as in the early
and lower cost XP machines.
