Slide to slide problems

On my presentation, when you click to go to the next slide it goes to a black
slide/screen. If you click twice it will go to the next slide?

Am I doing something wrong. I have a hyperlink set so that you have to click
to go to the next slide.

Also have all of the latest updates and patches.

Using Powerpoint 2002

Any help is appreciated

Does the same behavior occur on other computers?

Just to verify - the presentation does not have a black background and all
content set to animate on with a click...
