Slide Show Length Problem

T

Tim Driedger

I finished making a slide show this week. When I saved
the finished project as a DV-AVI file the finished movie
is a different length! I had to go back to the project
and extend every single picture by .07 seconds to get the
movie to be the length I had originally intended.

This all started because the audio was skipping in the
finished movie. I had to do the following to make the
whole thing work:

1. Edit the whole movie the way I want it to look.
2. Delete the audio from the project.
3. Extend every picture 0.07 seconds
4. Save a DV file. This movie is the same length as the
project before extending every picture.
5. Start a new project.
6. Import the DV video and add the sound back in.
7. Save the new project as a DV file.

This is the only way I could get the finished movie to
play back without the audio skipping. It looks like MM2
is doing something strange with timing when it generates
video from image files.

Any thoughts?

There are a couple of things you could try here. Take a look at
http://www.papajohn.org, under Problem Solving -> Audio Issues. Sometimes
the skip seems to be avoided by adding a video effect to the clips.

Thanks,
Latha
