Slide goes blank after animation...

Steve

I have a slide with several items that I bring onto the slide via
animation. However, after the last item everything that was animated
disappears. I've tried re-ordering to debug, but no matter what item I
have last every animated item goes blank.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks!

Could you have an auto transition taking you to the next slide (which is
maybe waiting for a click to show items?

If not you can post me a 2 slide sample if you wish. Add a copy of your
first post to remind me what it's about.

I'm having the exact same issue, here. I tried making some items on a
slide animated and others not. After all of the animations complete,
all animated items disappear, but the static items stay there
(indicating it has not moved on to the next slide). I have the
"rewind when done playing" checkbox turned off, and I've even tried
turning it on then off again.

A frustrating problem, indeed.

FYI, I'm using PowerPoint 2003 (11.6564.6568) SP2

I think I found the cause of the problem (at least for me), and a
workaround.

Since the presentation I was having this issue in had many slides and
was somewhat complex, I decided to try reproducing the problem in a
less-complicated environment. I created a new presentation and added
some animation. However, I was not able to reproduce the problem.

The only difference I can see between the two presentations is that
the presentation which exhibited the problem had been exported from
OpenOffice (in Linux). So, I'm assuming for now that OpenOffice wrote
something in a form that slightly confused PowerPoint. I haven't
tried doing anything to prove or disprove this theory, though.

The "workaround", I found, is to re-create each slide. (Create a new
slide, then copy in the title and the body text, etc.) In my case
this wasn't too much work since the animations were all part of the
master slides. I suppose if you have manually added a lot of
animations, this could be a pain in the butt. Still, it may be your
only choice.
