I recently installed Windows XP Home and now the sleep
button on my Gateway keyboard doesn't work. Also, when I
go to 'turn off computer', the standby icon is not active.
Is there a way to put my computer into sleep?

I am not sure if this will help solve your problem but we have a small utility
program that attempts to force a PC to sleep or hibernate.
