Slave Hard Drive Problems

Mark

I just recently formated my computer. Beforhand, I backed
up to spare hard drive. Now that I have reinstalled
windows, and connected that back up hard drive via IDE as
a slave, the computer recognizes the new hardware, but I
cannot access it. The drive does not show up in My
Computer but Device Manager says it is working properly.
Any suggestions? Did I miss loading a driver?

Thanks,
Mark

Was your backup drive a primary drive at one time? The second drive maybe partioned with an active boot partion. If so it confuses the OS. Only one active partion at a time is allowed.

Did you change the jumper to the slave position...?

Also the Master must be jumpered correctly for Master w/Slave. It may be
set to Single or Cable Select which doesn't work with a Slave on all drives.
