slave drive recovery

I had a problem with xp and was going to do a repair but stupidly selected D
my slave drive managed to stop it almost instantly but now it says my slave
needs to be formated when you explore it and nothing is there.can ido
anything to read and
repair the start of my slave drive.

Do nothing else to the drive. There are "Unformat" tools/utilities available
for download on the web. Not all are Freeware, but if the data is valuable
then the cost may be worth a purchase. Personally, I use Active Uneraser
and Active Partition for data recovery of that type. Also, PQMagic has a
function to undo formats like you've done.

I had a similar problem, I stuffed around for a day or so trying to get my
files back and realised I was only making it worse. I bit the bullet and
bought DataRecoveryWizard (http://www.easeus.com) that did the trick. It
worked. Recovered almost everything.
