skips music and movies

the day i have installed service pack 2 for my windows xp
professional edition the music which i have copied into my
hard drive through windows media player skips a little and
thats annoying. its not only the case with music but also
with DiVX and DVD MOVIES stored in the computer. I have
shelled a fortune on my computer. My computer
specifications are
INTEL P4 3.0 HT
INTEL MOTHERBOARD
2048 MB RAM
SEAGATE 300 GB SCUZZY HARD DISK >13000 RPM
SONY DVD ROM

someone please help me out i cannot handle this pain and i
dont want to lose service pack 2.

I have the same problem. Both my MusicMatch and Windows
Media Player both stop and go, skip or jump to the next
song. Were you able to fix the problem yet? would
someone please help.
