size of my font

I am unable to change the font size in word. I am on extremely secure
computer. Could that be a problem and if not what is my next step.

Are you trying to change the default font size, or the font of a particular
selection? What version of Word are you using, and is Information Rights
Management (IRM, aka Permissions) being used for this document (or the
underlying template) to control what specific users can and can't do?
