Hi All!
I have a wireless network running between 2 PCs both with XP sp1. I am
using a Belkin wireless access point and the network had been running
perfectly until new years eve when I had to replace my firewall and
virus checker (ZoneAlarm Security Suite Trial had expired, replaced
with ZoneAlarm free and AVG Free).
Now the network claims to be working fine, and I can transfer files
between computers with no trouble, the client shows the internet
gateway on the host as being connected, but I can not access the
internet with IE, can not get Outlook to retrieve mail, and I cannot
get Messenger to work either. It's as if the internet was not there.
The error message "Page cannot be displayed" appears, although the
connection on the host is fine.
I have tried many times to follow the guidelines given in many websites
for setting up ICS (they all basically say the same thing), but I still
can't get the client to access the connection on the host, even though
it says "connected speed 576kbps (DSL).
I have also removed the firewall and virus checker on both
computers,(dodgy, but I was desperate) butu still could not get the
client to work.
I have also reversed the setup with a different modem changing the
client into the host and vice versa. Still it doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't understand why it should
suddenly stop working.

Thanks
getting even more .... baldieontherun

it could be the name resolution issue. can you ping a public ip like
4,2,2,1? if yes, can you ping yahoo.com? if not, check the dns settings.
