Simultaneous VPN Connection to main server from same remort site

I have a client who had to replace one of his PC's and a router in a branch
office(lightning).

Since replacing the equipment we can only attach to the head office server
via VPN from only one of the two PC's at the branch simultaneously.
Disconnect the connected unit and the other will connect happily.

However, you can connect from another branch while one of these units is
connected.

I gather this must have something to do with both units at this site giving
the same address (the routers address) to the head office server. As far as I
can see nothing needs to be done to the branch router to permit simultaneous
connection but I could well be wrong. The head office router and the software
at head office have not been changed in any way.

One other thought: The branch office connection does not appear to be very
stable as periodically they loose all external abilities from this site and
they need to reset both the cable modem and router to re-establish external
communication.

I am thus wondering if my VPN problem may be being caused by a faulty router
although I cant see how .

Any help would be appreciated

What's the router model #? I have two things in my mind. 1. Upgrade the firmware. check this page,

Only one VPN connection and Error 678

2. Some routers are limited to one VPN connection. check this one.

No more than one VPN connection

I changed the router from a Hawkings to a Linksys and the problem went away.
You would think hawkings would say something about this in their documentation
